You will have to unlock other orders by gaining tamer points (or whatever they are called) but it's a better system, or at the very least much more involved. Then you can use those 'order points' to tell your digimon to do a specific attack or execute their special attack without using MP.
Instead of not being able to order your Digimon around until it has 500 INT in this game you can get 'order points', which are given to you in combat by pressing a button when your digimon attacks or is attacked. The basic combat system is the same as in the first Digimon world (PSX) or Re:Digitize (PSP) but there are some improvements.
